Carl Edward "Hoss" Compton

Carl Edward “Hoss” Compton was born on March 3, 1926 in Green County to the late Robert (Uncle Bob) and Hattie Vester Hazelwood Compton. He departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY. He was 93 years and 8 days old.

He made a profession of faith at an early age and was a member of the Mt. Union Baptist Church in Allendale, KY. Carl (Hoss) Compton retired from Kentucky Trailers in Louisville, KY. He loved to share stories with everyone, was well-known for sharing his love of music with his family and friends and liked to play the guitar and the harmonica. You would always either find him looking at his gospel shows or reading his Bible. He loved all his family.

Carl (Hoss) is survived by four daughters: Liddie Marshall of Portland, Oregon, Patricia (Rev. Andre’) Calhoun of Summersville, Lena ( Jimmy) Smith of Richmond, KY and Tiara Trujillo of Campbellsville, six sons: Rev. Dr. Emmitt (Connie) Compton of Aurora, Illinois, Larry (Carolyn) Compton of Summersville, Steven (Mardena) Compton of Campbellsville, Carl Anthony Cowherd of Indianapolis, Ind., Zachary and Daniel Hancock of Campbellsville, thirty grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.

Place and Time of Funeral Service: Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home - 12 Noon CT Saturday, March 16, 2019

The visitation and wake will be from 5 p.m. CT until 8 p.m. CT Friday and after 7 a.m. CT Saturday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
